my approach.

unique lives, unique approach

I offer a free, no obligation 15 minute initial consultation, by telephone or video, so you can get a feel for my approach and decide if you would like to work with me.

I use a range of techniques, including ACT, DBT, Mindfulness and self-compassion, to complement traditional CBT. I have an informal, semi-structured approach to therapy sessions, working towards your individual goals for treatment. Everyone has a unique story, which requires a unique approach. No single approach will work for everyone, so I will work with you to find the approach that works best for you.

Some people may only need a few sessions to get maximum benefit from their therapy, others may need more sessions to reach their goals. The number of sessions you may benefit from will vary, depending on your needs and goals. Once we start working together, you are under no obligation to complete a set number of sessions. I use a flexible approach to session length and frequency. Some people may work best with weekly sessions, others may benefit from fortnightly sessions. Sessions will usually be either 50 mins or 90 mins, again dependent on your individual requirements.

I conduct sessions either over the phone or via video link. This means you can engage with therapy in a comfortable space of your own choosing. Research has found remote therapy to be equally effective as traditional face to face therapy, although this may not be personal preference. (Unfortunately I do not offer face to face therapy currently). This approach often works especially well with Neurodivergent individuals, who may find it easier to engage with therapy in this format, having more control and therefore less stress accompanying sessions, leaving more mental energy for your actual therapy.
